Day 1: Salakphet Bay Adventure – 15 KM (9.3 miles)

Begin your Koh Chang circumnavigation with an unforgettable 15-kilometer journey starting from Salakphet Bay, where you’ll immediately immerse yourself in the pristine beauty of ancient mangrove forests teeming with exotic birds and marine life. Paddle through winding channels to discover an authentic fisherman village, where you’ll witness traditional island life and local fishing techniques that have been passed down through generations. Your adventure continues as you navigate to the stunning islands of Koh Prao Nok and Koh Lao Ya Nai, each offering crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling among vibrant coral formations. The day’s exploration culminates with a visit to the picturesque Koh Ngam, known for its dramatic limestone cliffs and hidden beaches accessible only by kayak, before you paddle to your comfortable evening accommodation at Tantawan Resort, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s incredible discoveries while enjoying spectacular sunset views over the Gulf of Thailand.

Day 2: East Coast Exploration to Dan Mai. 22 KM/13.6 Miles

Depart from Tantawan Resort for an extraordinary journey along Koh Chang’s pristine east coast, where you’ll experience the island’s wilder, less-developed side with dramatically fewer crowds and untouched natural beauty. Your route takes you through the scenic waters of Salakkok, followed by a paddle past Than Mayom with its spectacular waterfall views cascading directly into the ocean. The day concludes in the charming fishing community of Ban Dan Mai, a hidden gem on Koh Chang’s southeast coast that offers an authentic glimpse into traditional island life rarely experienced by visitors. Dan Mai’s appeal lies in its unspoiled charm  Here you’ll discover local friendly villagers, and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of this off-the-beaten-path destination where the pace of life remains beautifully unhurried and the natural environment pristine and undeveloped.

Day 3: Northern Circuit to Paradise 25 KM/15.5 Miles

Begin your third day departing from the peaceful Ban Dan Mai, paddling northward along the scenic coastline to Ao Sapparod, where you’ll witness the bustling ferry terminal that serves as Koh Chang’s main gateway – a fascinating contrast between the tranquil waters you’re exploring and the island’s connection to the mainland. Continue your northern journey past the charming Koh Chang Noi, a smaller island that offers excellent opportunities for wildlife spotting and pristine snorkeling in its protected waters. Your adventure reaches new heights as you round the northern tip of the island and enter Koh Chang’s famous west coast through Klong Son, where the landscape transforms into the island’s most celebrated scenery. Paddle past the renowned White Sand Beach, observing from a unique water perspective the beautiful stretch of sand that has made Koh Chang famous worldwide, before arriving at your day’s destination – the spectacular Klong Prao beach area, our absolute favorite location on the entire island. Klong Prao captivates with its perfect combination of pristine 3-kilometer stretch of golden sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters ideal for swimming, and the dramatic backdrop of lush tropical mountains cascading down to meet the sea.

Day 4: West Coast Wonders to Bang Bao 21 KM/13 Miles

Embark on another spectacular day departing from beautiful Klong Prao, beginning with an enchanting exploration of the Klong Plu Canal. Your journey continues to the pristine islands of Koh Yuak and Koh Man Nai, two hidden gems offering exceptional snorkeling opportunities among tropical marine life and crystal-clear waters. As you paddle southward along Koh Chang’s spectacular west coast, you’ll pass the popular Kai Bae Beach with its charming mix of local atmosphere and stunning scenery, followed by the famous Lonely Beach, known for its bohemian vibe and dramatic coastline that perfectly captures the island’s wild beauty. Continue past the serene Bai Lan Beach, where golden sand meets emerald waters in perfect harmony, before experiencing the day’s highlight – the breathtaking gliding passage along towering limestone cliffs that dramatically rise from the sea, creating a natural amphitheater as you approach the iconic Bang Bao Bay. Your day concludes at Bang Bao, a unique fishing village built entirely on stilts over the water, where traditional wooden walkways connect charming seafood restaurants, local shops, and authentic Thai architecture. This remarkable destination offers stunning natural beauty, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the bay where land, sea, and sky merge in perfect tropical harmony, preparing for your final day of adventure.

Day 5: Final Journey to Complete the Circle 13 KM/8 Miles

Begin your triumphant final day departing from the iconic Bang Bao, paddling southward along Koh Chang’s rugged coastline toward one of the island’s best-kept secrets – the pristine and untouched Wai Cheak Beach, the last undeveloped beach on Koh Chang that remains completely wild and unspoiled by tourism. This hidden paradise offers an extraordinary contrast to the developed areas you’ve passed, showcasing what the entire island looked like decades ago with its virgin jungle meeting crystal-clear waters, powdery white sand unmarked by footprints, and complete tranquility where only the sounds of nature prevail. Wai Cheak Beach represents the ultimate off-the-beaten-path experience, accessible only by kayak or challenging jungle trek, making your arrival here truly special as you witness one of Thailand’s last remaining pristine coastal environments in its natural state. From this remarkable wilderness beach, your final paddle takes you full circle back to Salakphet area, where your incredible 5-day circumnavigation adventure began, completing your journey around Thailand’s second-largest island with a profound sense of accomplishment and unforgettable memories. As you return to Salakphet, you’ll have experienced the full diversity of Koh Chang – from bustling fishing villages and resort areas to completely untouched wilderness, ancient mangrove forests, hidden islands, dramatic cliffs, and pristine beaches that few travelers ever discover, making you part of an exclusive group who have truly explored every facet of this remarkable tropical paradise.
