This is our new longest expedition route with 10 days of kayaking and 2 rest days in Koh Mak and Salat Phet Bay, Koh Chang.
During the expedition we cover 186 km, traveling to circumnavigating Koh Chang, Koh Chang, Koh Mai Si Yai, Koh Rang, Koh Mak, Koh Kradat (optional), Koh Khum
(optional). With our experienced local guide, the extended expedition takes in all the highlights of the 12 days tour as well as the lesser known that offer a rare glimpse of local Thai life.

- Food, All meals on the expedition are provided apart from breakfast, lunch, and evening meals on the rest day(s) and familiarization day. Clients are required to bring sufficient money to purchase their own meals on this day/s.
- Drinking water is supplied throughout the expedition, other drinks are at your cost.
- Accommodation is provided for the familiarization day and the remaining expedition days. The night of the final day of the expedition (back on Koh Chang) is at your cost. Accommodation is in single rooms – For the couple, the room will be upgraded.

[page_familiazisation]Day 1: Magic Resort via Chai Chet – Klong Son Bay (14.50 km)
From the beach, we are afforded a panoramic view of the islands that await us. Once we have packed our kayaks and orientated ourselves. We set out for the north onto a rock garden we can practice our silky-smooth skills before reaching Chai Chet. Then we will be continuing up for Pearl Beach, which is a strange name as there is no beach, then White Sands Beach.
On this day, we will stop at Klong Son Bay which is close to the ferry pier when you go by land. This is still very much a local area for local people with a lovely bay. A/C, restaurant, and hot water are included.
Day 2: Klong Son Bay – Than Ma Yom – Salakkok Bay (28 km)
After breakfast, we continue our journey down the east coast past Tom Mai Yom Campsite and Waterfall (optional visit). We will stop at the nice coffee shop for a break then journey down to Salakkok Bay which is a glimpse of a traditional fishing community and mangrove. A/C, restaurant, and hot water are included.
Day 3: Salak Kok – Koh Ngam –Koh Mai Si Yai 23 KM
From the Salak kok, we continue our journey down to Koh Ngam which is a small island, 400 meters off the southeast of Koh Chang. It was privately owned by National Park. After the break, we will cross to Koh Mai Si Yai where we will be away from the tourist area, sleep in the Fisherman homestay, and test the real fresh seafood by a local chef. From the homestay, you can enjoy a little hiking to the top of Mai Si Yai island to enjoy the panorama view, snorkeling, or choose to relax at the homestay to capture the beautiful sunset and landscape treasures.
Remark: Koh Mai Si Yai homestay is a very local style where you will experience being like the locals. There is no private room but only a sleeping set in the open-air living room. We will provide the mosquito net for the guest.
Day 4: Koh Mai Si Yai – Koh Chan – Koh Bai Bang – Koh Kham – Koh Mak North 19 KM
After breakfast, we will goodbye to our host and head down towards Koh Chan, and paddle 3 km toward Koh Bai Dang for lunch and little snorkeling. Now 6 km of open sea lies ahead of us to Koh Kham which is the little private island near Koh Mak. The thing in Koh Kham that draws tourists’ attention the most is the beautiful nature by its scenic natural surroundings, shady and serene atmosphere, sandy beach, and crystal clear water. After that we approach the Northwestern tip of Koh Mak with our bodies fighting fit again, we set out for the final push along the length of the North coast to our resort for the night. Day 5 – Rest Day
Koh Mak is the most beautiful of all the islands and exploring it is very easy. If you choose to get out and about you have various options for transport including Taxi, motorbike (moped), bicycle and of course on foot.
Day 6: Koh Mak (North coast) – Koh Kradat – Koh Mak (south coast) 14 km
Departing the resort we turn right towards the Eastern tip of Koh Mak. From here we set out for Koh Kradat (Paper island) after the short 1km crossing we arrive. Koh Kradat is only a 5km circumnavigation (optional). We will take a break in Koh Kradat and take the local truck for a little safari at the colony of Deer. This will be the unique experience. Once completed, we head back to Koh Mak, and continue to contour the south coast to our resort for the next 2 nights. Lunch will be had at one of the wonderful restaurants along the coast. A/C, wifi, hot water.
Day 7: Koh Mak – Koh Rayang – Circumnavigations Koh Rang (17 Km)
Departing Koh Mak, we continue to the west by passing Koh Rayang Nai and Koh Rayang Nok then look over the open sea towards Koh Rang Yai. Koh Rang Yai is a protected National Park island inhabited only by the Thai navy. Now 6Km of the open sea lies ahead of us then do the circumnavigation Koh Rang and underwater exploration awaits us as just around the corner are two, first class snorkel spots. A deep water entry allows us VIP access to the beautiful coral reefs and to the wide variety of exotic fish. When we arrive at camp, the tents will be up and ready to occupy and the coffee (real coffee) will be in the pot. To facilitate a good night sleep, S.E.A. Kayaking will provide wonderful food, a pillow case, sleeping bag liner, an inflatable pillow, Sleeping Mat, and a small fan!
Day 8: Koh Rang – Koh Mak – Koh Wai (21 km)
A morning of underwater exploration awaits us again, we will head northeast Koh Kra, where crystal clear water and a stunning beach await us, and gives us the opportunity to enjoy some
snorkeling as well as lunch (again, pre-packed for you). After lunch we head east to Koh Mak, with a breathtaking Northerly view of the islands visited so far and the ones still to come, this crossing is one to remember. Then the open water waiting for us again, Koh Wai (south -west coast) (9 km). We will break and one of the beautiful beach in Koh Wai then continue to north where our resort for the night awaits. From the beach, we have rewarded a panoramic view of the islands that await us which is one of the best snorkeling spots in the whole park.
Remark: The accommodation in Koh Wai is very limited. There is the possibility to get the shared toilet options or a ruined Bangalow. The electricity is also limited not the whole night.
Day 9: Koh Wai – Koh Lao Ya – Koh Prao Nai– Salak Phet Bay 15.50 km
From Koh Wai, we will head north to Koh Lao Ya Nok, Koh Kao Ya Klang and take a break at Koh Lao Yai Nai where is a nice beach waiting for you. Then start the open sea to Koh Chang (4 km) and have lunch at the Salak Phet resort. After lunch, it is a good time to explore Salak Phet Bay, Koh Prao Nai where you experience the fisherman’s village, mangroves, and beautiful nature of this area. A/C, wifi, hot water.
Day 10 – Rest Day
Salak Phet is a local, rural community of fruit farmers and fishermen, spread out along the water and among the rubber tree plantations and orchards. It is a place to explore as local as Koh Chang comes with fewer tourists.
Day 11: Koh Chang – Koh Prao Nok – Long Beach – Koh Chang Memorial –Koh Khum (14 km)
Fully rested we are ready to continue our journey. The first section is from the Salak Phet, to Koh Prao Nok also called Koh Sai Kao; meaning in Thai is a White sand island that is pulled up on the lovely white sand beach. Then we will continue to Long Beach and Koh Chang Memorial for lunch with the pre-packed. After lunch, we will cross the sea again to Koh Khum. Koh Khum is 9 km
circumnavigation (optional). You will enjoy the sunset with the only one lovely resort in Koh Khum. Fan, Wifi, Hot Water.
Day 12: Koh Khum – Koh Chang (Wai Chaek Beach) – Koh Chang West Coast 20 km
On the last day, we will cross the sea to Wai Chaek Beach (3 km) and continue the west coast of Koh Chang which has some of the best rock formations in the National Park. With 5Km of inaccessible coastline ahead, our journey up the West coast offers us ample opportunity to express ourselves. Gliding between rocks, carving turns, and testing our skills against the waves, there are challenges for all abilities during this first section of the day.
At last, the excitement ends as we make our way around Bailan Bay headland, one last flurry of interest presents itself as there are several shallow caves that have extensive bat populations. Lunch at the restaurant at Lonely Beach or enjoy pre packed food at Koh Man Nai. The remaining back at Magic Resort offers us a time to S.E.A. Kayaking by Kayak Changreflect on our journey and revel in our achievements. We have completed our 12 days expedition and should all feel extremely proud of ourselves.
